Q&A Focused On Juicing

Hi friends,
I’ve been asked several great questions about juicing from a few current juice cleanse clients. Today I’ll share their questions and my answers. I’ve tried my best to keep my responses to the point and juicy.
Q: What if your favorite green to juice?
A: Ahh not fair haha! I’ll give you three instead that are all completely different: arugula, romaine and dandelion greens. The arugula and dandelion are bitter, I love bitter greens. Besides enjoying the taste they are excellent to aid in removing bile, getting our digestion an extra boost and bitters naturally have a warming effect which is extremely helpful when doing a juice feast/cleanse during the winter season.
Q: What is ONE thing you always recommend or almost always put in your juices?
A: In both juices for myself and/or clients there is almost always lemon and ginger. Lemon is a great fruit to add to juices, gives every flavor a natural boost or lift. Ginger has antimicrobial, antibacterial and anti-inflammatory benefits. Both of these have a “clean-up” property to them.
Q: Share TWO major tips with juicing greens.
A: Always rotate your dark leafy greens and please make sure you wash them extremely well. Especially beet tops, dandelion greens, and any lettuce variations.
Q: What is the best suggestion you have for fruit in juices?
A: The fruit is probably the most problematic with those newer to juicing. Typically too many sugary fruits are used in their drinks. I suggest using fruits that are in season so we can get the benefits, nutrients and be nourished by whatever that season brings.
