Affirmations. How Do They Work? Why Use Them?

Our thoughts have a power that most of us may not be aware of at times. Sometimes our thoughts can cause so much noise that it is hard to understand what we truly need to quiet down all the different thoughts, voices, scenarios, and overall the lies we feed ourselves. What we say, the words we choose, this more active reaction, creates or takes away energy.

By using an affirmation, something you say out loud and repeat in your mind throughout the day with a self-improvement “theme,” literally rewires the brain. Much like exercises, or anything that becomes a routine such as working out/running, they raise the level of feel-good hormones and push our brains to form new clusters of “positive thought” neurons (http://www.arlenetaylor.org/brain-care/953-affirmation).

Affirmations play an integral role by breaking patterns of negative thoughts, negative speech, and, in turn, negative actions. The action of thinking it, seeing it, saying it and believing in it creates a new path of thought. By creating a positive, and sending that vibration out there into the universe you are creating an open path for that positive energy to come back to you.

One simple affirmation that you honestly believe in can aid in cultivating change, positive energy, strength and the reality we crave.

If you write, say or think of an affirmation that you do not believe in, that right after there are an abundance of negatives thoughts those thoughts are “sent out there” too. This is why I say it should be an affirmation that you honestly believe in. You say it and say it while thinking, “I can, I will, I am.”

Let me share a few simple affirmation that may be helpful in situations where many of us feel stuck or are struggling in our life.

1. My business is growing, expanding and thriving.

2. I have forgiven those who have hurt me and peacefully am detached.

3. I am superior to negative thoughts.

4. I am where I am suppose to be.

5. I am conquering my illness.

6. I am making healthy choices today for a before tomorrow.

7. My partner is out there, we are not ready for one another yet. I’d rather conserve my energy for THE one I love, instead of SOMEone to love.

8. I am unstoppable.

Below are two images of myself saying and looking at some affirmations I made last week. I like to create very short, sweet, and simple affirmations that incorporate my whole life and being. I personally do not feel comfortable saying I am pretty, I am rich, things of this nature make me want to laugh…it feels like a lie to me. An affirmation you do not believe in or think something along the lines of YES then it is only sending out something negative to come your way.

“I Am Enough”

I am pretty enough, smart enough, strong enough, rich enough, loved enough, tall enough, educated enough….I Am Enough.

“I’m Awesome”

One simple, fun, loving and playful word like awesome is a fantastic starting point for self love!

Being who you want to be in life is more than food, your career, single or married but the actions, thoughts and reactions you have. Every single one of us has the power within us already to create the world we want to live in. One single affirmation may be what one needs to change their mind set, become motivated and form their dream world into their reality.

Thank you all for taking the time to stop by my site. Much love ❤ and raw power 😉
