Fruit as a meal, it’s underrated and feels amazing!

I think at times we personally feel the need to make meals, thoughts, actions, life in general far more complicated than it was ever intended to be. Our needs originally were simple but over hundreds of years we have made things even more complicated instead of making our lives simplified.

This is just my own perspective so take what you want, leave behind what does not resonate and try to just be open 🙂

There is nothing wrong with mono meals meaning having a 3 cup serving for example of blueberries for lunch. May be just watermelon for breakfast, a few pounds of tomatoes as a snack and cucumbers for dinner. Simplicity is delicious, healing, beautiful, and makes it easier to be healthier.

We all have become obsessed with getting enough this or that even though we are not deficient. Instead of seeing fruits, vegetables, herbs, nuts, and seeds as a whole an object that we observe we now think it has this many calories, antioxidants, calcium, protein, vitamin C so and so on this TV channel said this.

I have just a few extremely simple recipes to share mostly using fruits since I have noticed that most of the people I personally know usually have fruit in a smoothie or as a mono meal. I hope sharing these ideas gives someone a concept of their own, may be a food moral, or an appreciation of simplified meals.

Watermelon Grapefruit Confetti Lemon Balm Salad

Heart shaped watermelon pieces, hand ripped grapefruit, fresh lime juice and chiffonade cut lemon balm.

See how “fancy” and attractive this looks yet it only took me around 5 minutes to prepare this delicious fruit salad for my breakfast. I used a heart shaped cookie cutter to make watermelon heart pieces ❤ I have a bit of an obsession with make fun shapes like hearts and stars with my food. I love the colors, textures, shapes, and the “dressing” feel from the fresh lime juice.

This fruit salad is cooling, has a beautiful summer vibe and just enough colors to attract the ideas without being a rainbow of colors.

Warming Mango Orange Salad

Mango and oranges in lime and lemon juice with cayenne pepper & cinnamon. Sweet, comforting and warming <3!
Using just a little bit of spices is a great way to get that “home cooked” vibe that one may be missing or craving when cutting out many processed foods like wheat and gluten. Try sitting down and figuring out why you have that craving, get to the core of your emotions. Usually this stems from feeling lonely, grieving, the need to reward yourself with dealing with something, feeling cold, and may be even just being bored.
Food can be our friend or foe, aid in our wellness or in a way can be extremely self destructive.
Cucumber Strawberry Salad With Strawberry Orange Dressing
CucumberStrawberrySaladLGLF
Julienned Cucumbers, Sliced Strawberries, Fresh Lime & Lemon Juice with just a tablespoon or two of my Strawberry Orange Dressing from a previous post.
This has lots of high water content ingredients, sweetness, a little bitterness from the cucumber peel and loads of crunch! Another wonderful summer time salad 🙂
These are all quick, summery and craving kicking recipes that should help with any sweet tooth or wheat cravings. Everything takes time!
Our taste buds need adjusting, and processed foods have been made to be addicting. So may be for a few weeks we find it not so bad to cut something, then bam binge eating that item. Please keep in mind that it does take time for taste buds to change! Everyone’s taste buds are different too. One person may be addicted to salt and another person hates salt but loves fatty foods.
Never forget to congratulate yourself for your achievements. If you didn’t have the chance to make a green juice today think of what preparation you can make now so tomorrow you will have time to. Then after you do the prep work LET IT GO! There isn’t a green juice police or anyone who is going to give you a hard time about it. Lesson learned, time to live, love and move on ❤ Just go out there and do what you want to do, be your goals and do not let them beat you up or stay on a list of “to do’s.”
Thank you all for taking the time to stop by my site. I am sorry I did not have a post this weekend but my work schedule is getting packed. Plus my router blew out! Wishing you all a wonderful week with loads of kitchen inspiration and self love. Much love ❤ and raw power 😉
