Goji Ginger Grapefruit Juice <3 Goji Berries vs. Powder.

Awfully short post here today, the giveaway generator and other arrangements ended up taking up most of my day yesterday so I’m a little behind on some work.

But I wanted to share this yummy Goji Ginger Grapefruit Juice I made for myself a few days ago.

This drink is surprisingly warming even though I did not add much ginger to it. Citrus fruits always lure me in, they can be both warming and cooling at times.

If you are interested in the health benefits of grapefruits, I have a previous post with some facts. Way back when I made a video sharing a post work out smoothie, one of the ingredients was goji powder, I briefly share just a few of the health benefits of this ingredient if you are curious.

Goji berries are very tart, and typically are found dried in bags or in the bulk section at all natural/organic markets. Since it is a dried fruit they are rather high in calories, and also the flavor is strong. So a little goes a very long way!

It can be found in dried whole berry form or as a powder. The powder form tends to not be as tart, but depending on what you are making and the brand, the powder will most likely clump or require lots of stirring. I personally used the whole berries and after I juiced the grapefruits I blended freshly grated ginger and goji berries with the juice.

If you buy the whole berries and blend them into drinks you will get seeds or little bits of the berries in your juice. The texture and potency are different between the two. Whole berries are more tart, but I like that I can see the seeds from the fruit in my smoothies. To me personally I feel like I could possibly be getting more of the benefits.

Goji Ginger Grapefruit Juice

GojiGingerGrapefruit

2 grapefruits juiced, roughly one cup

2 tablespoons goji berries, more or less according to your taste buds

1/4 teaspoon freshly grated ginger, more or less according to your preference

First I juiced the grapefruits, then put the juice in my blender with the other ingredients.

Blend until smooth & enjoy!

I found this drink to be sweet, tart and a wonderful wake up call ❤ The color is absolutely stunning and reminded me of Terra Cotta.
