Hi everyone :D!
Snow Blizzard Nemo is here, and it just keeps on swimming around. So far things are not that bad, I think what is really going to get us around here is the wind and being close on the coastal line. I hope everyone is safe and sound, getting cozy, and staying warm in one way or another! Here is a photo of my toes getting warmed up and the Warming Liver Radilicious Juice I made for lunch.
But let’s talk about my breakfast first. After going to an hour and a half heated yoga class I was looking to get some water and yummy nutrients into my body. I love having a green juice after working out because it feels like the ultimate detox. Sweating, twisting, moving, going upside and what not gets things flowing out.
❤
With all of this in mind I threw together what I am calling a, Get Fresh Cucumber Cilantro Drink.
If you are not a fan of cucumbers, try peeling the skins and removing the seeds. These both add a super bitter taste to juices, otherwise please keep the skins and seeds because they contain most of the vitamins that are so wonderful about cucumbers.
❤
Get Fresh Cucumber Cilantro Drink
2 cucumbers
6 celery sticks
Small handful of cilantro
1-inch or more of ginger (optional but it’s a wonderful anti-inflammatory and post-work out root)
After juicing your produce add a cup of coconut water, stir, and enjoy! I used Harmless Harvest’s coconut water, as far as I know they are the one and only raw coconut water company. Their product is absolutely amazing, sweet, re-freshening AND they use sustainable non-evasive harvesting. Something you can feel good about inside and out 😉
I love the look, feel and taste of this juice because it helps explain just how beneficial this concoction is. To me it looks like the insides of a plant, all of the chlorophyll, water, everything to get the flood flowing and nourished.
All of these ingredients tie into one another excellent also. The salt from the celery helps kick some of that bitterness that repels some people from cucumbers. Cilantro adds a heavy metal detox kick and a wonderful freshness and savory flavor. For me the coconut water really ties all of these ingredients together because it has a little bit of all of these flavors. If you are not a fan of coconut water you might like this concoction and please feel free to add less coconut water!
❤
I am super duper happy with the Warming Liver Cleansing Radilicious Juice recipe I came up with today. This was just the sweetness, heat, and energy boost I needed to venture out into the snow. Plus to get ready for some hardcore shoveling.
This is an extremely powerful drink. The root vegetables have lots of bitter notes. These bitter foods help our livers to cleanse and perform at top-notch levels. They do this by thinning out bile in our body, causing detoxing to occur.
Radishes, including their greens, provide an excellent source of Vitamin C. Radish leaves contain almost six times the amount of Vitamin C and calcium content of their roots, so using the greens in not just this juice but in general is a health promoting and feel good idea 😉 You’ll also get roughly 2% of the daily recommendation for iron, and it is also an excellent source of; Vitamin B6, magnesium, calcium, folate, and potassium.
Radishes only have 19 calories per cup and pretty much just consist of fiber and water! There is zero fat or cholesterol in them also, ideal for those who are concerned with blood pressure or cholesterol problems.
Using beets and radishes with both of their greens/tops (highly sulfurous) have been shown over the years to benefit our liver, digestion and gall bladder. I also use apples in this recipe, they are also known to be great for our digestion, gall bladders and promoting healthy liver function. Combining the apples, radishes and beets, brews a harmony in creating positive/effective results from drinking this juice. I also use carrots, another root vegetable, to form a strong energy with all of the ingredients.
I love the colors of all of these goodies too! It’s amazing to look at and see the finished product. The bite that radishes have create so much warmth ❤
I have a previous post all about beet tops if you would like to learn more about them 😀
❤
Warming Liver Cleansing Radilicious Juice
10-12 radishes
One handful of radish tops or more if you are lucky and yours are healthier than mine were 😛
2 Beets, peeled (only a quarter if you are brand spanking new to raw beets and beet juice)
Beet Tops from the beets
10-12 radishes
4 carrots, peeled
2 Granny Smith apples
Enjoy! ❤
Hope you all are staying warm and keeping it juicy on your end too! Thank you all so much for stopping by my website and taking the time out of your day to read my jibber jabber. Much love ❤ and raw power 😉

I recently read that adding beets makes it very high calorie. Do you think that is the case?
Hey Tammy ❤ I loved this question so much that I did a little blurb with my opinion and some nutritional values on the post I did today. Thanks for reading and commenting. I always enjoy hearing your opinion and personal experience.
