Forget coffee and keep it simple with a warming, detoxing and awakening with a steaming cup of hot water with lemon.
- Cut your lemon wedges into attractive shapes
- Use cups that make your heart feel like it’s going to explode with joy
- Make it a routine that works for you by having slices cut ahead of time
- Take a pitcher and fill it up with water and lemons, drink this throughout the day. This also makes it easier in the morning or when you are getting ready for bed, all the “work” is done besides warming up water.
- Have a travel mug near by your stove so there is no excuse!
Lemons are amazingly detoxing, they boost our immune system, keep everything flowing and flushing. They are great for our skin, nails, hair, it naturally kills odors, it’s a remedy for the hiccups and is great for removing stains on clothing, walls or on your skin.
I like using organic lemons so I can keep the rind on, the rinds are probably the most powerful “cleaning” element. Usually I roll my lemon a bit (between the palms of my hands), slice it, give it a little squeeze in my cup and pour hot water over it.
I have a previous post on more health benefits of lemons and this wonderful morning tonic. I also like to have this hot water and lemon drink an hour or so before going to bed. The lemon can really do its magic better early in the morning before eating and at night after you are not going to eat anymore for the day.

I have a little twist on the Parsley Lemonade I made a few days back. I made a version that is much more warming because of the use of herbs. I also did not use any of the typical fruits many of us typically use in juices, except for lemon! Instead of using apples, oranges, mango and so on I used some yellow bell pepper to add sweetness to my juice. If juicing herbs like cilantro or parsley is new to your tummy box, please read my previous post that I linked above.

Apple-less Green Caboose Kicking Juice Recipe
3-4 cups baby spinach
4 celery sticks
1 to 2-inches of ginger and turmeric (I peeled both)
1 lemon with rind (only keep the rind on if organic)
1 handful of parsley
1 handful of cilantro
1/2 yellow bell pepper or more according to your taste buds
Juice and enjoy!
I like the lemonade herb taste of this juice and how amazingly warming this is without adding a hot pepper or spices.

I made a video today on the fear of being alone. So many people, may be because of how social media obsessed we have become, feel like they are depressed when they are alone. All of the demons that spit negative chatter come out all at once when they are alone. But we are honestly never ever completely and utterly alone.
I see this time as a space to conquer goals, fears, meditate, and reflect. I think this scares most people because of the fear or failure. Our biggest failures were when we didn’t even try, we stopped ourselves from even taking one baby step.
Being around company, having a lover or so on just so we are not alone is in itself loneliness still. Having people around just for the sake of physically having people there does not mean that they truly care for you, or that your problems are all solved now. Feeling alone is a huge demon to face, and realize that it actually does not exist at all. It’s just something we have created to stop ourselves from being happy or actually trying.
I want to thank my new readers and community members for connecting with me on this goal of overcoming a fear everyday. The little pushes to continue help me see that I am not the only one with fears and goals that will take a lifetime possibly.
❤
I hope this helps anyone out who was curious about lemon, lemon hot water tonics and trying to think of other ways of adding sweetness to juices! Thank you all for taking the time to stop by my site and read my ramblings. Have a great week! I am getting geared up for a possible snow storm myself. Veggies, fruits, water, and ice all fully stocked and blankets ready! Much love ❤ and raw power 😉
