I had a friend here in California ask me a few wonderful questions,

“What is THE best juice to drink?” and “What should I always juice?”

With eating and juicing in general it is always best to mix things up and eat different things. For better results with detoxing and cleansing it’s a good idea to not drink the same exact juice everyday or all day long.

This can build up alkaloids and oxalates in greens, thus making it more difficult to actually absorb all their yummy nutrients. So mix your greens 😀

Buy what calls to you! There is probably a reason why celery may look so appetizing or the apples are making you drool out of the corner of your mouth in the grocery store. Pick fruits, vegetables and herbs that look & feel fresh, alive and ripe.

Sometimes our produce travels from other countries or from the other side of the United States. They start to loss nutritional value, flavor and energy during this time period. There is a reason why for example cherries are so expensive right now, first of all they are not even remotely in season and secondly they are coming in from another country.

Try buying as much local, organic and fresh produce as you possibly can 🙂

Every fruit, vegetable, dark leafy green and herb has similar and different health benefits, flavors and powerful detoxifying organs that it really hits. It is really best to eat a rainbow, try different fruits & veggies, and let yourself have fun in the grocery store.

If there is something in the produce section that is new to you feel free to ask someone in produce if you can try a sample.

I once worked in an all natural and organic grocery store, if a customer wants to try a piece of lettuce, a few slices of an orange, a cherry or so on it is completely allowed! It makes things easier for both parties. This way the store does not have you returning or wasting food plus you might bring something new home that you absolutely love.

SO to cut to the chase if I HAD TO pick out FOUR things for someone to juice every day it would be: lemons, cucumber, celery & dark leafy greens.

These ingredients are found in every grocery store, you don’t have to freak out because WholeFoods is an hour away from you or there is no Asian Markets in your town.

Lemons are super detoxifying, alkalizing, anti-cancer properties, nausea, hair health, skin health, blood purifying, weight loss, osteoporosis, heart health, Vitamin C, immune health, cold/cough symptoms, insomnia, asthma, aid in digestion AND they produce lots of juice ❤

Cucumbers are also very detoxifying, alkalizing, a gentle diuretic, great for skin and hait health, and Vitamins C & A.Vitamin A can aid in promoting healthy and intact surface lining in the eyes, respiratory tract, urinary tract and gastrointestinal tract. Cucumbers are loaded with folic acid (when it is not peeled it contains folic acid, the skin is slightly bitter at times but yummy) and potassium. They are high in fiber, sodium, silica (healthy connective tissue) AND produce lots of water/juice ❤

Celery contains vitamins B1, B2, B6, AND C. It is also rich in potassium, folic acid, calcium, magnesium, iron, phosphorus, sodium and several essential amino acids. The natural salt/sodium in celery is COMPLETELY different from table salt. Celery has the healthy salts that aid in bowel movements as well as being high in fiber. It is detoxifying, alkalizing, gentle diuretic, anti-inflammatory, kidney health, weight loss, lower blood pressure & lower bad cholesterol, replaces lost electrolytes and rich in minerals. Just to name a few things! Celery products loads of juice also ❤

Dark Leafy Greens are cleansing, detoxifying, alkalizing also with high amounts of calcium, potassium, magnesium, phosphorus, amino acids and iron. Many dark leafy greens have been linked to; preventing anemia, anti-inflammatory, eye health, digestive health, lower blood pressure, bone health and so much more!

I would also like to add something like ginger or turmeric on this list, but I know I have a few readers who can not seem to hop onto the Ginger/Turmeric Wagon ❤ These roots are very cleansing, anti-microbial and so forth.

I hope this post has given you all some ideas for when you go to the grocery store ❤ Thank you all so much for taking the time to stop by my site and read my jibber jabber. I hope to SOON do a video with some ingredients in living vegan recipes that may be “new” to some. Much love ❤ and raw power 😉

Here are a few photos of what I juiced today!

I’ve been calling this one Sugar, Spice and Everything Nice..That’s Green

Pear. Green Apple (not in the picture above). Baby Bok Choy. Lemon. Turmeric. Ginger. Celery. Spinach. Cilantro. CHEERS! 😉
In this photo you can really see how thick and creamy the pear made this bomb diggity juice. The turmeric and ginger added a great heat to it.

BIG HUG TOO! XOXO Jess
