Food Recalls. How To Find Out What Is Being Recalled & Why We Should All Care. Do Your Research!

Hi Everyone <3,
I just wanted to share with you just a little something. On my Facebook Page I share food recalls that I read. I personally check online and receive e-mails warning me about these products. For me, it is nice to know what is truly going on with our food and other products. It doesn’t matter if it is food that I personally would eat or not. These items can have a massive negative impact on one’s health, thus I am interested in what’s going on. We all have the right to know about these products. The FDA also warns of products that are being recalled that may surprise you for example there recently has been a recall on reusable razors.
But that also means that we need to personally take action and go out there and ASK. Please take the time to check out the FDA’s website listing what products are recalled and why. The dates, brand name, product description, reason/problem, company, photo and usually it even tells you where you can find this product (for example if a larger company makes peanut butter for a smaller company, like how CVS has their own brand of foods).
Here is the link to sign-up for their food safety and recall e-mailling list. I will keep posting recalls and warnings as I see them, but out of care and love I think we all should be on this e-mail list.
Usually the FDA explains the technical terms that are used to describe a recall. An example straight from the site is with the brand GlideScope, a company that produces reusable blades, “Laryngoscope blades have been found to be prone to developing cracks and/or breaking across the tip of the blade, which potentially could result in pieces of the blade breaking off in patient’s mouths and obstructing the airway or being swallowed.”
We are all paying for this information. For people to do these studies, tests, set standards and we will also be paying for any illness we may contract in the end.
So let’s do ourselves a favor and keep searching, doing our research, asking questions and enjoy the rights we have. This shows how grateful we are to live somewhere where we CAN find this information out with a few clicks on the internet.
Much love ❤ and raw power 😉
xoxo Jess
