Dark Sweet Cherry Coconut Chocolate Protein Shake Recipe

This morning I wanted to have something different for my breakfast shake. I recently stocked up on frozen fruits and bought a few I do not typically have around the house like blackberries and cherries.
I haven’t experimented much with cherries besides making fruit peels or adding them to beet juice. So I decided to have a few of my favorite shake ingredients with frozen cherries. I was far more than satisfied with this concoction! Just before leaving my house for yoga I consumed this drink. I added protein to it, but that is completely optional 🙂
For the most part these are ingredients that many of you will already have in the house. A few of the ingredients are optional too so please do not think you have to buy each and every ingredient. If you do not have coconut oil, another good fat to add is avocado, I think one tablespoon would work out well.
Dark Sweet Cherry Coconut Chocolate Protein Shake Recipe
1 heaping cup of frozen cherries (fresh can be used but you will probably have to use more cherries plus add about 1/2 cup to 1 cup ice)
1 cup filtered water
1 tablespoon coconut oil
1-2 tablespoons cacao powder (depends on your taste buds and the quality of the cherries)
1 teaspoon vanilla extract or one-fourth of a vanilla bean
1 teaspoon Ashwagandha powder (optional)
1 tablespoon hemp protein (optional, and you can use your favorite type of protein such as sprouted rice)
Blend until smooth but still thick (it is a shake 😉 )and enjoy!
This can easily be made into a sorbet by placing the liquid in a plastic container and stirring the mix every 3-4 hours for 14 hours. Some topping ideas are shredded coconut, cacao nibs, raspberries, blueberries, blackberries, strawberries and/or mint.
I am currently preparing myself for a juice feast and am wondering if people would prefer recipes using juicers, blenders or a mix of both? I typically make a soup like item for lunch while doing something like this so a blender will almost always be used for this meal. But I am curious to see if more people have blenders or juicers. I am guessing blenders are more common, but I don’t want to assume!
If you have a minute I would greatly appreciate if you would take my poll so I can have a better idea of how to go about posting recipes during my juice feast. Thank you in advance for your time and please feel free to share this poll ❤

Yum, that shake sounds delicious! Is Ashwagandha powder hard to find (can you pick it up at a natural food store easily) or is it easier to buy online?
It depends where you live on how easy it is to find, like if you are near a WholeFoods most of them carry it. Smaller all natural shops might have it, but your best bet is a larger shop or online 🙂
