Post Work Out Smoothie Recipe and Video
1February 27, 2012 by Living Girl Living Foods
This morning I had a fantastic work out (yoga and running) and I NEEDED something to help lift me up again and keep me going. I sweated a ton and really needed and wanted to hydrate myself and give my body a little love. So I made something sweet, tart and green! This smoothie has electrolytes (coconut water), chlorophyll (wheatgrass), protein, iron, calcium, vitamin e, it’s great for blood pressure and anemia. It’s a wonderful anti-inflammatory and is packed with antioxidants.
Here’s the recipe:
12 pieces frozen mango
1/2-inch ginger/pinky tip worth, optional
8 pieces frozen pineapple (please feel free to put more or less, I have a sensitive sweet tooth!)
1 handful clean spinach
1 teaspoon goji powder, optional
1 teaspoon acai powder, optional
4 oz coconut water
Little splash of filtered water
1 cube frozen wheat grass or 4 oz fresh wheatgrass
Blend until smoothie and enjoy!
Below is a video of me making this smoothie this morning, straight from yoga class 🙂 My Channel is LivingGirlLivingFood
