Eight Days Of Oil Pulling, Wisdom Teeth at 25 Years of Age, Recipe Sharing & Future Food Plans

It has been eight days now that I have been oil pulling, my teeth and mouth feel super clean. When I rub my tongue along my teeth, gums, and mouth everything is smooth. May be it is just me but my teeth even look whiter! I’ve been sleeping better too. I can see some itty bitty pimples near the top of my jaw (my left side). I read that oil pulling helps with nerves, yet I can’t say I’ve seen any results (not yet at least) besides sleeping better. I almost feel like my nerves are worse, like I am overly aware of everyone’s mood. Usually that means once I get over whatever this is, everything will be absolutely wonderful…like detoxing 🙂

I’m not sure if this is related, I don’t think it could be, but I believe I am starting to get my wisdom teeth in. I have heard stories from friends and family about the pain is causes and how much of a pain it is to get them removed. I’m honestly scared of doctors, I really don’t want to go to the dentist :X! I have always questioned if it is necessary to get wisdom teeth pulled or if it is something that is recommended but would never be spoken about that way. I can feel a gap between my gum and where it is raised, there is a tooth there for sure. It has been bleeding frequently too. I’ve noticed whenever I talk, eat, or drink something I can tell that my tongue touching it is irritating that area. So I’ve been drinking even more juices and smoothies! 😀

Before all the crummy wisdom teeth business I tried my hand at some new creations in the kitchen. Here is what I ended up with!

Jicama Fries, Ketchup & Veggie Burgers On RomaineTopped Burgers (Tomato & Red Onion)

Above are Jicama Fries with homemade ketchup, Dehydrated Spicy Veggie Burgers on top of Romaine Lettuce. Yummmmmy 😀

Jicama Fries Recipe:

Jicama Fries

1/2 Jicama Peeled & Cut Into Fries

1 Tablespoon Your Favorite Oil (I used a mix of flax, hemp and olive oil)

Cajun Seasonings and Salt According to your preference

I used my hands & rubbed everything around, I love using my hands with stuff like this though.

These never fried fries are sweet, crunchy, comforting and super filling. They would probably taste excellent dehydrated but I kind of like to use to dehydrator occasionally, it’s kind of like a special treat.

Homemade Ketchup:

1/2 Small Beet, Diced

2 Tomatoes, Diced

1 Small Red Pepper, Diced

1 Small Carrot, Diced

1/2 Cup Olive Oil

1 Tablespoon Cinnamon

1 Teaspoon Nutmeg

Salt, Pepper, Paprika, Onion, Garlic, and Cayenne to taste!

Spicy Veggie Burgers:

Spicy Veggie Burger

1 Portobello Mushroom, Peeled & Diced

1/4 Cup Jalapeno, Diced

1 Handful Clover Sprouts

2 Tablespoons Ground Flax

2 Tablespoons Water

1 Tablespoon Lemon Juice

1 Cup Carrots, Diced

1/4 Cup Onion Diced (Your Preference 😉 )

4 Basil Leaves, Chopped

1 Tablespoon Dill, Chopped

2 Garlic Cloves, Minced

1 Teaspoon Cajun Spice Mix

Thyme, Oregano, Cayenne, Salt, Pepper, Cumin according to Taste!

Form patties and dehydrate at 95 degrees for 2-3 hours or longer if you want them extra crunchy! I tried one of the burgers with ketchup on top wrapped in Romaine, it was delicious :B I bet it would be fantastic with guacamole, salsa, in a salad, not dehydrated, or with your favorite type of nuts for some extra protein.

Today’s recipe ideas to test out for the week:

Starfruit Fruit Peels

Mixed Berry Fruit Peels

Cinnamon Nutmeg Vanilla Banana Chips

Spicy Flax Crackers

Having an actual recipe/measurements written out for a Parsley Spinach Apple Juice I love making

And some sort of shaved salad like this one I made via Gourmande in the Kitchen (their photo looks 100 times better, I really stuffed my stack). This Shaved Apple, Fennel and Celery Salad is refreshening, sweet, crunchy, savory and yes it is actually filling. At work today one of the chefs made a Fennel Orange Slaw with Red Onion, Dill & Olive Oil, SO RAWMAZING!!!!

Shaved Fennel, Apple & Celery Salad

Ingredients:

4 celery stalks, sliced paper-thin
2 small fennel bulbs, sliced paper-thin (reserve a few fennel fronds for garnish)
1 large firm, crisp apple thinly sliced paper-thin (I used Fuji, one of my favorites because of it’s texture and sweetness. Oh yes, and leave the peel on.)
3 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil (I think I only used 2 tablespoons)
1 Tablespoon freshly squeezed lemon juice
2 Tablespoons chopped flat-leaf parsley
2 Tablespoons chopped fresh mint
Fine sea salt
(I used a slice of lemon peel as a garnish for the top)
I recommend grabbing small handfuls of the mix and stacking them up. It’s surprisingly difficult.

  1. Ms. Heather Jacques produce aficionado says:

Hello darling! I would only consider getting your wisdom teeth pulled if they are crowding your other teeth..otherwise your 4 front teeth will get turned sideways and you have such a pretty smile I wouldnt mess with that! If you need a good doctor mine was painless and gentle.. I had no bruises and didnt feel a thing. He had relief ready for me as soon as I came to. The whole process was much better than some stories I have heard from others. Love your blog by the way we should get together and make lunch sometime!

    • Thank you dear! I think I am going to wait it out & see what happens. It barely hurts now even though there still is a huge opening. Let me know what days are good for you, I’d love to get together and make some yum yums ❤
