Yesterday was day 14 of cleansing; I was starting to get that feeling in my stomach at night like it was going to grumble like a monster. I haven’t had this feeling at all during cleansing surprisingly.
I had an extremely stressful day; I didn’t get to drink my juices at the times I am use to. I didn’t get to have my first juice until about 1pm. I feel confident in saying that I 100% screwed myself over by letting things get in the way of consuming my juices and taking care of myself.
Here’s what I enjoyed yesterday:

- 1 quart, Basic Balance Smoothie from Victoria Boutenko’s Book titled, “Green Smoothie Revolution: The Radical Leap Towards Natural Health.”
- For Dinner I enjoyed a 16 oz Kermit from Wildflour made with: Cucumber, Parsley, Celery, Spinach and Kale!
Today Day 15th, January 15th:
- I’ve had two apples with 1/2-inch ginger juiced with a tablespoon of ground flax seeds. This is a great drink to help the digestive system, immune system and will definitely have a laxative effect.
- Beetox and Mr. Green Genes from Wildflour!
- More Strawberry Lemon Smoothie 😀
The past few days I’ve seen a lot of talk in cleansing and how it’s mostly gained people’s interest in films/documentaries. Fat, Sick and Nearly Dead has been highly mentioned tons (Netflix). I’ve seen this movie before and find it perfect for people who are brand new to raw foods and juicing, who are interested in following someone’s personal story. The movie is emotional and breaks down all of the information and facts in a manner that anyone can follow. Fat, Sick and Nearly Dead is all about Joe Cross’s juicing to health journey. Cross was over 100 pounds over weight, suffering from an autoimmune disease that doctors have him on steroid pills for that do not help him. He decided to go on a juicing cleanse, and to help others who are suffering from health problems to drink green drinks.
However, I do feel that there are other films out there that provide more information and that Fat, Sick and Nearly Dead is a good point to start at and help spark an interest in whole foods.
Some other movies I strongly recommend are:
1. Food Matters – This really gets down to all of the facts, science and numbers on how processed food that we seem to think makes us all so progressive are harmful and lead to diseases.
2. Forks Over Knives – Like Food Matters this film stresses that we can all be healthy by cutting out animal products and even prevent ourselves from diseases by eating whole food.
3. Earthlings – Unlike Food Matters this focuses more on why it is important to be Vegan to help save the world and animals from not being harmed anymore.
Here are some films that I’ve seen trailers and reviews that have made me interested in watching the movies but I haven’t seen them yet. I have put them in order of which 1 being the one I am most interesting to seeing to less interested.
1. The Gerson Miracle – The Gerson Diet is what raw diets and juicing is revolved around. Consuming green and vegetable juices can prevent our bodies from diseases and even reverse illnesses.
2. Processed People: The Documentary – This film doesn’t go so much into saying that being vegan will help reverse illnesses but more that not eating processed foods will reverse illnesses and debt.
3. Simply Raw: Reversing Diabetes in 30 Days – Most of us known someone with diabetes or are battling with it ourselves, this film shows real people earning real rewards going on. I’m always interested in watching someone’s person journey raw emotions, real results and seeing how nutrition is the answer to all of our questions.
