Days 2 & 3, January Juicing/Smoothie Cleanse
4January 3, 2012 by Living Girl Living Foods
Yesterday was an amazing cleansing day. I started off my morning with a large cup of hot water with lemon. I drank almost half of my Beetox juice (apple, beet, carrot, lemon, ginger) before leaving the house and had already gone to the bathroom three times.
At work I finished off the rest of my juice around 9am. Around 9:30am I went to the bathroom and after that almost every hour I was going to the bathroom.
For lunch I had a Mr. Green Genes (cucumber, spinach, kale, celery) and some hot water with lemon.
Around 3pm I had one cups worth of a Papaya Guava Pineapple Goji Smoothie. Here’s the recipe:
1 cup diced papaya
1 half of a medium-sized guava
3 pieces of frozen pineapple
1 heaping tablespoon goji powder
Water as needed
Blend it all up!
I’ve been hooked on hot water and lemon lately! I’ve always heard how great it is for cleansing and here is an article all about it. Hot water with lemon is a great alternative to coffee in the morning, by also providing that energy boost most people want in the morning. Lemon is rich is vitamin C, Bioflavonoid, anti-oxidants, and works wonders with cleansing the liver as well as eliminating/preventing kidney stones and pancreatic stones.
Yesterday I also had a fruit smoothie for dinner consisting of 1 banana, 4 pieces of pineapple, 1 pear, 1 cup papaya and water. I drank this before yoga and in class when I was sweating I even smelt like pineapple. I didn’t seem to notice any difference in my practice, I wasn’t feeling weaker or light-headed. It seemed easier to stay in the present though.
Today Tuesday January 3rd I had:
60+ ounces of hot water with lemon
The 3 “R” Cleansing Juice: Refresh, Rebalance & Revitalize (jicama, carrot, apple, ginger) This juice is sweet, it mostly just tastes like jicama. I love jicama though, it goes well with pretty much any vegetable.
Mr. Green Genes (cucumber, spinach, kale, celery)
1 navel orange worth of juice
14 ounces of a new juice I made consisting of:
1 cup red cabbage
2 broccoli spears
8 dandelion leaves
1/2 watercress
8 kale leaves
1 carrot
1 medium beet
1 cucumber
1 celery stalk
Blended with
2 tomatoes
1 cup parsley
2 tablespoons dill
This is a slight twist on my 9 Veggie Garden Juice. It’s a very thick juice with loads of nutrients, the tomatoes help fill me up in no time. I have about 24 ounces left of this juice that I plan to have for lunch tomorrow. I’m also hoping to make a juice for breakfast from my new juicing book, “The Big Book of Juicing.”
I feel like yesterday was a more successful day with my body cleansing, I didn’t go to the bathroom as much today. I’m surprised because I am sure I drank more water today. But not every day is the same, and with cleansing it’s no different. Let’s see how tomorrow goes ❤

[…] I’ve posted my 9 Veggie Garden juice recipe on here before and another juice I have been making lately is similar except it is closer to the vegetables in V8…without the concentrated veggies and scary preservatives! If you are looking for a juice recipe with loads of vegetables here’s another one I love […]
