Day 1, January Juice & Smoothie Cleanse

Day 1 of my cleanse, and tons of work to be done. I am doing a terrible job with keeping up on my water in take. My skin is awfully dry from the weather, my lips and hands included.

Tomorrow morning I need to use Tampico skin brush and let my skin get rid of all the dirt and gunk that I am sure is in me. A few days ago my clothes did not get washed with my detergent so my skin is freaking out like it use to way before I went vegan or anything. I’m hoping this will help me out.

So far today I drank:

1 large cup of hot water with lemon. This will help your stomach digest all food and prevent undigested food entering the blood stream. It’s also been shown to get rid of gallstones.

Total of 10 ounces of filtered water

2 ounces orange juice (leftovers from juicing at work)

1 Grasshopper –> Pineapple, ginger, wheatgrass

4 ounces carrot with one ounce spinach (leftovers from juicing at work)

1/2 of a 16 ounce Kermit I froze in hopes to prevent nutrients from dying(leftovers from last night) –>Cucumber, parsley, spinach, kale

At 2pm or 3pm everyday I have some sort of light snack. Today I made a smoothie with: 1 banana, 4 strawberries and 2 pieces of pineapple. It was super filling and tasted extra sweet.

I have one Mr. Green Genes (cucumber, celery, parsley, lemon, kale, spinach) from Wildflour for tonight if I do not have the motivation before or after yoga to make my 9 Veggie Garden Juice. I picked up some fresh mustard greens to add to this one, I can’t wait to test it out.

Today I joined the group cleanse on the Living and Raw Food Village page on facebook. They even have a chart to keep track of how your cleansing is going. I’m hoping to use this as a guideline for what I should mention on here.

Overall, today I have felt fantastic. I didn’t ruin out of energy at any point until I got home at 2pm and made my little banana, strawberry and pineapple smoothie. I walked home from a bit of a distance and had an exhausting day so I think everything kind of caught up to me then. I wasn’t drained or moody at any point. I have definitely gone to the bathroom to urinate more than usual.

I haven’t had any cravings out of the norm (kale, lemon, pineapple), I was super happy to start off my day with the Grasshopper drink and my fruit smoothie was a great help in keeping my energy up. My mood has not changed, usually around the third day in I start focusing my drinks on keeping my energy and mood levels up.

Here’s a photo of most of the drinks I had today.
